INMATE VISITATION

Inmate visitation is now being offered both in-person and online. Please view the information below to prepare for your visit. 

Onsite Session 

The Madison County Jail offers on-site video visitation terminals. Visitation must be scheduled 2 hours in advance during the times below:

Visitation Rules: 
  1. You must have a valid state or federal photo ID to visit.
  2. You must be 18 years of age to register a visitation account.
  3. Violation of the following will result in visitation being disconnected and restriction of visitation privileges:
    1. Tight-fitting, provocative or see-through clothing is prohibited.
    2. Nudity, partial nudity, sexual acts, simulated sexual acts, or depiction thereof is prohibited. Security threat, group or gang activity, signage, symbols, or other representation of any such group is prohibited.
    3. Any illegal activity, conspiracy to commit an illegal act, or depiction thereof is prohibited.
    4. Visitors who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs are subject to have their visit disconnected and visitation privileges restricted.
    5. Registered user must be present (on screen) during the visitation.
    6. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with an approved account.
    7. Photography, videotaping, or use of alternate device is not permitted during visitation.
    8. Display of photographs, videos, and social media accounts is prohibited.

 Remote Session (Combine Public Communications)

Traveling to the jail to visit an incarcerated loved one can be difficult. From the money spent on gas or public transportation, to the time spent driving and waiting, the process can be costly and burdensome. To provide an easier way to visit an inmate, the Madison County Detention Center offers remote video visitation. This allows you to visit from the comfort of your own home through internet access via your Android or Apple smartphone, tablet, computer, or camera capable device.

Schedule Online Visitation
Below are a few tips to make your visit a success: 

1. Visits need to be scheduled 2 hours in advance.
2. Please use earbuds or headphones for better sound quality.
3. Walking around or riding in a car during your visit can cause your signal strength to drop.
4. If there is poor video quality, please log out and rejoin the visit.
5. Visitation policies must be followed to ensure privileges are not restricted.

Department Rules: 
  1. Participation in video visitation is a privilege, not a right. Both visitor and inmate are expected to follow visitation policy during a video visit.
  2. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department reserves the right to deny, cancel or terminate a video visit prior to or during a video session based upon visitor or inmate misconduct.
  3. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department reserves the right to restrict privileges of the visitor from participating in all future use of the system for failure to comply with visitation policies.
  4. Attorney video visits will not be recorded or monitored.
